A gorgeous pair of earrings from the Victorian (1880s) era! Crafted in 15kt yellow gold, these unique earrings feature a light-catching rock crystal cabochon set in a vibrant bezel with delicate twisted wire detail. An engraved six-point star, secured by a rivet, adorns the front of each?crystal, curving to fit the shape and topped with a smaller star. An old Rose Cut diamond is nestled into the smaller star, sparkling with every turn of the light. The earrings secure to the ear with a hinged back-to-front (European-style wires) surmount decorated with a delicate natural pearl and an additional old Rose Cut diamond. These earrings are a fantastic example of Victorian-era jewelry and would be a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 1/2" long, measure about 1/2" wide and about 5/16" in depth.
Condition: The earrings remain in?very good?antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold setting or hinged earring wires which are intact. The diamonds and rock crystals are all intact and securely set. The edges of the backside of the rock crystal display very minor damages that do not negatively impact the integrity or beauty of the set. The pearls display wear to their nacre but are intact.
